I *hope* all who can will come join Gedas, gallery owner John Mottern and me this coming Thursday June 25th 7-10p for one more night of animal art - lite dinner/sushi at Gallery 55!
The opening was fantastic, and now another time to view my artwork in this beautiful setting and toast with us. Please visit my website www.janeohara.com for details. RSVP so we know how much food to get- (very important ...) For those that cannot make it, the gallery is open Saturday's 10-2p or by appt.

Our fabulous first lady Michelle has joined France's first lady Carla Bruni in declaring she is fur free - as recorded on the PETA blog
This makes me so happy for not only the seals but all the animals used in the fur business. It's a horribly cruel business where the animals suffer in filthy cramped cages and the methods of killing are barbaric. If you have the stomach you can read up here. I've been talking a lot about the seal clubbing in Canada, and hopefully that will come to an end with pressure on Canada. Boycott Canadian seafood or maple syrup...In the USA the Marine Mammal Protection Act prohibits the import, export, sale or possession of any marine mammal product (with a few exemptions for small native hunts). Now the EU has banned the import of seal pelts. Here are facts on the seal subject.
Just to bring the point home I had my first close encounter with a seal
while on Nantucket with Gedas and my sister Betsy and bro-in-law Jeurgen.
So cool!! Dogs in wetsuits I always called them...this is nerd dog in a wetsuit- just to differentiate.
