Jane O'Hara

HI! I'm Jane O'Hara. I've been painting animals for many years. I often paint them into settings that show how people treat them unnaturally. I want to say something about that animal- whether it's their beauty, vulnerability, their bigger than life personality...whatever it is about them that strikes me.

I am increasingly aware of animals as sentient beings that need us for their care, protection and quality of life. This idea drives my paintings.

I am inspired by an animal and from there the ideas flow. Animals entered my artwork years ago and never left. I do commissioned portraits of animal pals and also have a line of Jane O'Hara Fine Art Editions- fantastic quality prints of many of my paintings, found on my website www.janeohara.com
